Cardiff Grading Success.

The successful Carmarthen judo team.
Successful fighters.
Five young judo fighters from the Club attended the February Grading in Cardiff, there were three young ladies and two young men.

Ffion Whitefoot went to the grading determined to get a yellow belt and to her credit she did exactly that. Brother and sister - Hannah and Ryan - were attending their first grading and as always it was probably just as hard a day for their parents as it was for our two youngsters. However, both fought very well and returned to Carmarthen with 2nd. Mon for Ryan and 3rd. Mon for Hannah. They were so happy with fighting in Cardiff that they were disappointed to find they had to wait for 3 months before grading again. (Donít worry there are mini-mons!!)

The two older competitors also had a tough time: Claire Wyatt was fighting in her first Senior grading and found the competition rather "heavy", she did well and "transferred" to Senior with a 2nd. Kyu. Rhys Evans got an appetite for senior competition with this his second senior grading. His first confirmed his ability to compete with his "elders", his second confirmed how tough it was going to be. He fought very well against older and heavier opposition gaining his 2nd.Kyu. A good day for them all.
