The successful Carmarthen judo team.
(Left to right) : Back - Tom Wood, Rhys Evans. Middle - Tydal Le Biham Smith, Kate Walters and Eurion Le Biham Smith. Front - Jonathan Walters.
In the last grading at Cardiff for 2005 four juniors and two seniors from the Club attended.

Jonathan Walters was attending his first ever grading making a solid start achieving 3rd.Mon. He was so keen he volunteered to have an extra fight!

Kate Walters, also her first grading, fought really well showing great skill in getting her yellow belt, 4th Mon.

Tydal Le Biham Smith had a very good grading showing some of the skills he's learnt at the Dojo, he gained his yellow belt, 5th Mon.

Eurion Le Biham Smith improved on is last grading and continued to climb the mon ladder achieving 6th Mon.

Rhys Evans attended his first senior grading having just turned sixteen, he was a little nervous but turned this to his advantage by winning all three of his fights in emphatic style, he was graded 3rd Kyu.

Tom Wood came to this grading needing only twenty points to achieve his first dan and was once again the lightest fighter by far. Usually Tom makes the spectators sweat a little while watching him and Saturday was no exception. Losing his first two fights he was unable to claim his own line up, however, he was entered as one of the three fighters for other competitors line ups. It is to the credit of the supporters that they stayed sane while watching as he waited until the final fight to complete his two wins thus bringing home his first dan. Tom was presented with an embroidered black belt at the Dojo on the Monday following by Louise Beard, Coach.
