Welsh Youth Medallist 1993
Celt Llewellyn-Jones.
At Carmarthen Judo Club's Dojo (training hall) at Johnstown’s Leisure Centre, a young boy, Celt Llewellyn-Jones, has recently taken home one of Welsh Judo Associations top awards for under 8's.

Under 8's members of the Welsh Judo Association undergo training to achieve the Dragon Award of a purple belt. This award is presented to members after they have undergone a series of tests on the martial art of judo. The purple belt is awarded to those who achieve a pass in all the tests they undertake.

The tests are overseen by members of the Welsh Judo Association on diverse matters of judo theory. The theory is difficult but to make it even harder the tests are carried out in Japanese.

Celt took the tests over several months and he passed all with flying colours.

Alex Hughes, one of Carmarthen's highly qualified coaches, said "This young man has done exceptionally well and will, I'm sure, continue with judo and achieve many other notable highs in a long judo career.
