Recently Carmarthen Judo Club held its 2012 Club Championships at its Dojo (training hall) The Leisure Centre, Johnstown where members could fight each other in a competitive situation.

The championships are an annual event which is designed to allow the youngsters participating to show off the skills they have learnt during the previous year.

The competition was open to all club members from 5 years of age upwards and saw competitors and parents attending. Everyone who attended had a good day watching, what turned out to be, a very competitive and highly skilled tournament.

One coach was presented the "spirit of Judo" award for the time and effort shown in helping the children develop their judo skills. Head Coach, Louise Beard, presented Alex Hughes with the award reminding all of the dedication shown by a family man who takes time out to gain a coaching award and helps children up to three times a week on a voluntary basis.

Louise congratulated all those who took part to make it such a memorable day. She also thanked the parents who take their children to training and competition throughout the year.
